III. Transformationsphase:

Werden System und Systemträger zu "starr", d. h., geht Flexibilität, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, verloren, oder verlieren die Anhänger zunehmend das Interesse an der Kultur, dann kann man von Habitualisierung sprechen. Um das Überleben zu sichern, beginnt dann eine Phase der Öffnung für Außeneinflüsse, der Suche nach neuer Strukturierung mit anderen Elementen. Daraus ergeben sich synkretistische kulturelle Formationen, solange diese noch dem Quellsystem zugerechnet werden können. Von Transkulturalität kann man dann sprechen, wenn aus dieser vergleichsweise labilen Phase neue kulturelle Formationen hervorgehen, die eine eigene, nie dagewesene Qualität entwickeln, so dass sie nicht mehr das "alte" System stabilisieren helfen, sondern der Ausgangspunkt für ein neues System sind, wie es z. B. beim Punk und beim Hip Hop Ende der 70er Jahre der Fall war. Sehen wir uns dazu die Animation der Systemdynamik an, die die Prozesshaftigkeit der systemischen Entwicklung darzustellen versucht und wenden wir uns dann der Transformationsphase genauer zu:
