The song receiver goes back to his group and teaches them the new song. Various rituals have to be respected during this learning phase. The men sing the song first while sitting; later the women join them and finally they stand up and dance to the song. When the entire group has learned the song, they go to Bosen's dancing place and present him the new dance. Bosen gives them food, kava and mats in exchange.
After the main film follows a 'making of'-trailer (5 minutes). The director, cameraman and editor talk about their work. After the first cut, the film was shown to the actors on Tanna - their comments on the film are also shown in the trailer.
In the interior of the island of Tanna, people still live strictly according to their culture and traditions. There are no Christian churches and Western objects are limited to bush knives and a few cooking pots. One day Bosen, a man from the Middle Bush of Tanna, goes to the neighbouring group and asks for a new song/dance (nupu). The person with the gift to receive songs from the ancestors is asked by his Chief to search for a song. The song receiver visits different places on the island to get in contact with the ancestors: to the sea-shore, to the active volcano. Only together with his son, and at a certain tree, the ancestors provide him with a new song.
